Choosing Arbonne

I know most of you may not have heard of Arbonne and even if you have, you aren’t familiar with the ins and outs! So here’s a quick summary to get us started. Arbonne is a health and wellness company that specializes in “pure, safe and beneficial” products.

And here’s why I finally choose to be a part of this AMAZING company.

But first… the jump in!

With anything new, human nature triggers our brains to have doubt, worry and questions. For months on end I waited and plotted what I would do, how I would start and generated ideas. All throughout this thought process there were days that I woke up telling myself I shouldn’t do it and I made up reasons why I shouldn’t (AKA excuses). But in reality there was NO REASON why I couldn’t start something new and be successful. So… I signed myself up and started my journey! And here’s why:

Pure, Safe and Beneficial

ALL of Arbonne products are pure, safe and beneficial. All Arbonne’s products are vegan, gluten free, cruelty free and are made with botanicals and cutting-edge science!

We live in a world where SO many of the products that we have access to are filled with chemicals! And, with recent technology and developments, these chemicals that are found in every day products like make-up, lotion and food products are full of cancer causing agents. It’s SCARY and so many people have no idea what they are putting in and on their bodies! Before Arbonne, I had no idea what I was doing to my body both by what I was eating and what products I was using. Arbonne promotes safe and healthy living and it changes lives!

My Story

When I started college my mom became an Arbonne consultant and to be honest, I didn’t think much of it at the time. I was a young college student and I ate what was offered and bought products that were friendly on my bank account (sound familiar?). But I also struggled with BAD acne. I tried ProActiv, I saw dermatologists, I tried tanning (I know, it’s horrible) and I still struggled. My skin would be clear for two weeks and then it would break out for a month. It was a constant guessing game and it was frustrating! And it effected my confidence. My mom purchased me the Clear Future acne set and within a week I saw results but then… it would flare up again! She told me it was something in my diet, she told me to do a 30 day cleanse and being the young naive college student I resisted and would not admit that it was probably what I was putting in my body.

clear future

Fast forward… I finally did a “30 days to healthy living” cleanse and the results were jaw dropping! Not only did my skin clear up within a few days but I felt so much better! I had more energy and I was so proud of myself for sticking to the plan and treating my body well! Pairing the Clear Future set with the 30 day detox was my answer, FINALLY!

No my skin isn’t perfect, yes I still have a few zits, no I don’t eat healthy 24/7 and yes, I indulge but I know what my body needs and wants. I learned that what goes in shows on the outside!

Not only have I learned so much about my body because of Arbonne but I have gained confidence and a whole new outlook!

Looking back I feel so silly for not wanting to spend the money or put in the effort! Health is not an expense but rather an investment! Pay it forward, your body will thank you for it!

Why I am Hooked

Once I figured out that Arbonne helped cure my chronic, bad acne I figured, “why not use ALL of Arbonne products?” Why wouldn’t I use make-up that was good for me and my skin? Why wouldn’t I use the pre-workout and post-workout that had NO negative aspects? I hate eating breakfast, so why wouldn’t I use the protein shakes that tasted good and lasted a long time?

These products take the unknown aspects out of the picture and they make you feel good about what you put in and on your body!

The Arbonne Community

The Arbonne community is nothing short of phenomenal! It is filled with women (and men) who are strong, determined, inspiring and passionate. These women are fueled by helping people live happy and healthy lives all while providing financial freedom to themselves and their families. As a 22 year old, these women are individuals who I look up to and women that I want to have as leaders and mentors!

Not only do I want to teach others about this amazing company and help people but I want to grow myself, better my body and constantly learn!

What Arbonne Offers

Not only does Arbonne offer unbeatable products, a great community and support system but Arbonne also allows you to build your own schedule, make your own hours and it allows you to have a financial freedom that you may not have had previously! What you put in is what you get out.

Questions? Just ask! I would love to share my story, these products and more about why Arbonne works!

Being Basque

Over the years, I’ve explained Basque to countless people and often times I’ve just resorted to saying “my Mom is Spanish” to avoid the conversation and explaining. But, for your sake and the sake of the blog I’ll explain it again. Basques are a group of people located in Northwest Spain and Southwest France which is known as Basque Country. Basques are considered one of the oldest ethic groups in the world and have a rich history and culture but the population of Basque people in world is relatively small.

basque country

So needless to say, growing up Basque in the Pacific Northwest is NOT common and it certainly isn’t something that my peers know much about. Not to mention, light hair and blues eyes aren’t typically thought of as being from Spain or of Spanish descent.

And although it may not be common, we are proud to be Basque and I am blessed to be part of the community.

The Culture

Basques have a rich history of music, arts, sports and cuisine. Goldsmithing, working with silver and other metals is a common hobby and profession. Basques have a unique form of dancing and it is a way to preserve the culture in today’s world.

Basques are also known for sheep herding in the Pyrenees Mountains. The sheep herders would spend months on end in their wagons and they would use carvings in trees to communicate with each other and express themselves. Basque sheep herders found their way to Boise and began their herding the Boise foothills.

Basque sports are focused around strength and stamina. Some common competitions include log cutting, stone listing, hay bale throwing and wagon pulling.

The Language

The Basque language is completely unique. Unrelated to any other current language. Basque was spoken in Spain before Spain was colonized and it is the only pre-Roman language still spoken. Although most Basques also speak Spanish fluently, Basque is also an official language of Basque Country.

Every five years an international Basque festival takes place in Boise, Idaho. And let me tell you, it is the REAL DEAL. Basques come from all over the United States and other countries to celebrate together. A street in downtown Boise shuts down for five days for celebrations. Basque bands play live music all night long, authentic Basque food is sold on the streets and delicious Kalimoxtos (red wine and coca-cola) are served throughout the day. The days are spent exploring Basque History and indulging in delicious food, the nights are spent dancing and drinking.

My Family

To put it simply, we like to have fun. We love, we laugh and we live life to the fullest. We may not see each other often but when we do, it is a blast and it feels like home.

CN 022702My great grandparents were immigrants from Basque Country and they moved to Boise, Idaho. My grandfather (my Aicheche) was a Basque sheep herder and spent his springs and summers in the foothills of Boise. My Amuma (grandmother) worked as a maid in the Basque boarding homes in Boise where a large Basque population was built.

To preserve our family history, every Sunday the family gets together for lunch and we enjoy each other’s company. Our wedding’s are wild and a sight to be seen. But above all else, we have a bond because of our background and our heritage. We have something in common and we love who we are because of it. As the Basque’s say it, Euskadi. We are proud to be Basque.
